EXP Arabia seeks a versatile Senior Civil Engineer for mining projects in KSA. You will design, model and oversee civil works, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver practical, innovative solutions for complex mining ventures.

Applicants should have 5+ years in civil design for mining or industrial projects, be proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, hydrology and geotechnical design, and hold Saudi Council of Engineers membership.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in civil engineering design within mining or industrial projects.
• Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Solid experience in site development, and pipe and open channel hydraulics.

Responsibilities

• Complete engineering calculations and models for assessments, including seepage and stability, pipe and drainage ditch design, hydrology and hydraulics plans, erosion, settling of solids, alternative cover demonstrations, geochemistry, and statistics.
• Prepare technical specifications based on input received from other disciplines.
• Plan and execute field exploration programs focused on data gathering for site investigation and design activities.
• Provide input to engineering, operating and capital cost estimates.
• Review and evaluate technical work by junior/mid/senior engineers and designers.
• Perform and document construction observation and quality assurance testing for Geosynthetics or Earthworks on large civil projects.
• Prepare interpretive reports to support design and construction documents.
• Develop grading plans and designs in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Assist with writing reports, cost estimating, specifications and permit documents with senior advice.

EXP Arabia is seeking a versatile, experienced, and reliable “Senior Civil Engineer, Mining”. You’ll join our collaborative Mining team, working alongside multidisciplinary professionals to deliver practical, innovative solutions for complex mining projects.

Job Requirements and Description

• Complete engineering calculations and models for assessments, including seepage and stability, pipe and drainage ditch design, hydrology and hydraulics plans, erosion, settling of solids, alternative cover demonstrations, geochemistry, and statistics.
• Prepare technical specifications based on input received from other disciplines.
• Plan and execute field exploration programs focused on gathering data to support site investigation and design activities. The work may involve soil boring and test pit logging, well installation, development, and sampling.
• Provide input to engineering, operating and capital cost estimates.
• Review and evaluate technical work prepared by junior engineers, intermediate engineers, designers, technicians and technologists.
• Perform and document construction observation and construction quality assurance testing for Geosynthetics or Earthworks on large civil or power projects.
• Prepare interpretive reports to support the development of engineering design and construction documents.
• Develop grading plans and designs in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Assist with writing reports, cost estimating, specifications, and permit documents with senior technical advice and review.

Background and Qualifications

• A minimum 5 years’ experience in civil engineering design within mining, or industrial projects of varying stages from conceptual to detailed design.
• Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Solid experience in site development, and pipe and open channel hydraulics, Mine access road design.
• Tailings / slurry piping design experience is an asset.
• Active member of the Saudi Council of Engineers.
• Sound knowledge of various piping materials, fittings and joining methods.
• Experience in storm water management, stormwater runoff calculations, sizing the ditches, culverts and ponds.
• Good understanding of various coordinate systems and survey controls.
• Experience in interpreting and applying geotechnical design recommendations on civil designs.
• Sound understanding of design, Saudi engineering codes and technical standards.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.), CAD, and BIM tools.
• Knowledge of general civil designs and an understanding of industry codes, Mining Laws and Regulations, standards and construction methods.
• Experience in writing technical reports, specifications and in preparing the material take-offs for Cost Estimates.
• Experience in procurement, technical evaluations of construction contracts and material / equipment supply contracts.
