Job summary

EXP Arabia, a multidisciplinary engineering design and supervisory consultant, seeks a Senior Process Engineer, Mining in Riyadh, KSA. You will design flowsheets, support feasibility studies, develop mass balance models and process data sheets, and assist in plant commissioning.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years in heavy industrial design/EPCM, a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Chemical, Metallurgical, or Electrical Engineering, and Saudi Council of Engineers membership.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years in heavy industrial design and EPCM environments.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical, Metallurgical, or Electrical Engineering.
• Saudi Council of Engineers active member preferred.
• Experience with mining systems design and consulting environments.

Responsibilities

• Design flowsheets for ore or feedstock to optimize business case.
• Assist feasibility studies and detailed design for mining projects.
• Prepare design calculations and mass balance models (METSIM/SysCAD/IDEAS).
• Develop process equipment data sheets with technical details.
• Ensure process specs reflect design intent and information needs.
• Work with team to prepare CAPEX/OPEX estimates.
• Support plant commissioning activities.

EXP Arabia is seeking a versatile, experienced, and reliable “Senior Process Engineer, Mining”. You’ll join our collaborative Mining team, working alongside multidisciplinary professionals to deliver practical, innovative solutions for complex mining projects.

Location: Riyadh, KSA

Job Requirements and Description

• Design flowsheets for each unique ore or feedstock, optimizing the business case for implementation.
• Assist in feasibility studies and detailed design for metals projects.
• Prepare design calculations and documentation and development of mass balance models in simulation software (METSIM, SysCAD, IDEAS).
• Prepare process equipment data sheets, including technical details and duties as required.
• Ensure process specifications portray the appropriate information and design intent.
• Work with the project team to prepare capital and operating cost estimates.
• Assist in plant commissioning.

Background and Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in a heavy industrial design and layout, EPCM environment is preferred.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Chemical, Metallurgical, or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Mining, construction field experience is preferred.
• Knowledgeable in the design of Mining systems.
• Active member of the Saudi Council of Engineers.
• Design experience, preferably in the consulting industry.
• Sound understanding of design, Saudi engineering codes and technical standards.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.), CAD, and BIM tools.
• Knowledge of mining-related processes.

• Professionalism: Appropriate written and verbal communications skills.
• Professional presentation external and internal to office. (IE: attire, engagement, meeting prep, etc.)
• Demonstrates presentation skills through internal and external technical presentations and whitepapers.
• Positively contributes to EXP and local office culture.
