Hill International in Saudi Arabia’s Qassim Province seeks a Quantity Surveyor for water and wastewater projects. You will study drawings and specs to calculate quantities, costs, labour and time, and provide early cost advice and budgeting to steer projects.
The role includes preparing tender and contract documents, bills of quantities, cost analysis for variations and claims, and regular budget reporting to management.
Hill International is recruiting a Quantity Surveyor in Qassim Province for water and wastewater work. The posting starts the role at inception. Drawings and specifications for new projects are studied to calculate quantities, cost, labour and time, and early cost advice, budgeting, benchmarking and life cycle cost plans come out of that.
The surveyor then supports the preparation of tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities settled with the client and the consultants. On the commercial side the work is cost analysis for variations and claims, advice on contractual claims and disputes, the valuation of completed work and the arrangement of payment.
Contractor and supplier invoices are reviewed for accuracy and for compliance with what the contract actually requires. Design and construction changes are tracked and the budget projections adjusted to follow them, with outcomes analysed and written up in budget reports. Regular reporting to management covers project cost, budget variance and the risks the surveyor can see coming.
Hill asks for an engineering degree and at least ten years on large scale infrastructure or city development projects, with proven work on contractors' progress payments and experience in the construction of water and wastewater projects. Knowledge of professional project management processes and procedures and experience of working internationally is both specified.
