Job summary

Advanced Metals Company (AMCO) in Saudi Arabia seeks a seasoned QC Lead to drive daily inspection activities across two shops, ensuring traceability, accurate release, and effective control of NCIs. The role emphasizes API Q1 knowledge, NDE, GD&T and robust QA leadership.

You will mentor QC personnel, coordinate calibration of inspection equipment, and support audits by API, Saudia Aramco, and third parties, enabling compliant, on‑time product releases.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Manufacturing, Metallurgical, Materials, Petroleum, Quality Engineering or a related technical discipline; extensive directly relevant experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of relevant oil and gas manufacturing, quality control, inspection, machining, pressure control, OCTG or premium‑threading experience, preferably including 3–5 years in a supervisory or quality leadership role.
  • Required knowledge includes API Q1, applicable API product specifications, drawing interpretation/GD&T, material identification and traceability, MTC/QTC review, NDE, hardness/mechanical testing, pressure testing, thread inspection/gauging, TMMDE control, NCR/RCA/CAPA and product release.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily QC execution across both shops and deploy inspectors based on competency, workload, production priorities, technical risk and customer hold/witness points.
  • Ensure effective receiving, first-off, in-process, dimensional, visual, thread, NDE, hardness, pressure test, final inspection, marking, preservation and release controls.
  • Maintain complete material and product traceability, including MTCs, QTCs, heat treatment, mechanical properties, hardness, NDE, dimensions, pressure tests, serialization and manufacturing records.
  • Control measuring, inspection and test equipment, including identification, suitability, range, calibration status, handling and impact assessment where equipment is found out of calibration.
  • Ensure only competent and authorized personnel perform inspection, NDE, thread gauging and product release activities.
  • Lead containment of nonconforming or suspect product through identification, segregation, quarantine, affected‑quantity assessment, NCR initiation, disposition follow‑up, reinspection and closure.
  • Lead evidence‑based RCA and corrective action using appropriate methods such as 5 Whys, Fishbone, FMEA, Fault Tree Analysis.
  • Prevent release until all required inspection, testing, traceability, documentation, NCR, concession, customer hold‑point and acceptance requirements are complete.
  • Support API, Saudi Aramco, customer, licensor and third‑party audits/inspections; develop QC personnel through competency assessment, training, coaching and reassessment.

Job description

Pressure Control: API 6A, 16A, 16C, 6AR and 16AR. OCTG/Tubular: API 5CT, 5B, 7-1 and 7-2, including pup joints, crossovers, accessories and rotary shouldered connections. Premium Connections: VAM, Tenaris and NOV Grant Prideco. Additional requirements include Saudi Aramco SAMSS, NACE MR0175/ISO 15156, ASTM standards and customer-specific specifications.
