Job summary

Almarai is seeking a highly experienced Project Manager to plan, execute, and manage bakery capital projects in Al Kharj, Saudi Arabia. You will oversee end-to-end delivery from specification and tender through installation, commissioning and handover to production, coordinating international equipment suppliers and local contractors.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, 8+ years in bakery project management, and a proven track record delivering end-to-end bakery

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with strong bakery equipment knowledge
• Minimum 8 years in project management within bakery manufacturing
• Demonstrated end-to-end delivery of bakery projects
• Hands-on installation and commissioning of bakery equipment
• Thorough knowledge of bakery technology and process equipment
• Contract management experience with international equipment suppliers
• Delivery driven to satisfy scope, schedule and approved capital expenditure
• Compliance with hygienic design standards and ISO 22000

Responsibilities

About the Role

Almarai is seeking a highly experienced engineering manager to plan, execute, and manage bakery capital projects, taking projects from specification and tender through installation, commissioning, and handover to production. The role manages international equipment suppliers and local contractors, ensuring all projects are delivered within laid-down specifications, approved drawings, and approved capital expenditure, and in compliance with Almarai's quality system, standard quality procedures, and engineering specifications.

Candidate must meet the following criteria to be shortlisted

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent engineering discipline with strong bakery equipment and technology expertise
• Minimum 8 years in project management within bakery manufacturing
• Demonstrated bakery projects delivered end-to-end
• Hands-on experience in the installation and commissioning of bakery equipment
• Thorough working knowledge of bakery technology and process equipment
• Contract management experience with international equipment suppliers
• Project Delivery: Deliver projects to agreed scope, schedule and approved capital expenditure
• Equipment & Commissioning: Lead Factory Acceptance Testing at vendor premises and Site Acceptance Testing on installation, through to production handover
• Cost: Control project spend against approved budget and provide accurate forecasting throughout the project lifecycle
• Quality: Ensure all project work meets required specifications, hygienic design standards and ISO 22000 food safety compliance
• Health & Safety: Ensure all installation, commissioning and contractor activities are conducted in a safe and efficient manner
• Stakeholder Management: Manage consultants, suppliers, contractors and internal customers to ensure project objectives are met
• Staff Development: Direct, manage and develop the project team to meet current and future project demands
• HACCP, GMP, PMP and Lean & Six Sigma certifications are an advantage
