Job summary

Wood is seeking a Project Control Engineer to oversee cost engineering activities across remote project sites in Saudi Arabia. You will review documentation, drive cost estimating and control, and lead scheduling efforts while coordinating with clients and internal teams.

The role requires extensive cost engineering experience in oil & gas, strong English communication, and solid MS Office skills, with an emphasis on planning, budgeting, and timely reporting.

Qualifications

  • Experience in cost engineering functions including cost estimating and cost control.
  • Directing planning, scheduling, and cost control activities.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, and construction in Oil & Gas.

Responsibilities

  • Review documentation for the project controls scope of services.
  • Direct cost estimating, cost control, change management, and cost analysis.
  • Plan and schedule development, control, and analysis.
  • Lead and motivate a team and interact with client personnel.
  • Prepare internal and external cost reports per procedures and scope.
  • Coordinate with Client personnel as necessary.
  • Forecast work hours and costs; attend cost-related meetings.
  • Ensure weekly/monthly reconciliation between project reports and accounting.
  • Maintain awareness of systems used by other departments.

Wood is currently recruiting for a Project Control Engineer (PMC) located in various remote project sites across Saudi Arabia.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and understand all relevant documentation pertaining to the project controls scope of services
  • Specific experience and demonstrated skill in directing cost engineering functions, including cost estimating, cost control, change management and cost analysis required
  • Experience with directing, planning, and scheduling functions, including schedule development, control, and analysis required
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to successfully direct and motivate a team inclusive of interacting with client personnel require
  • Advanced knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, and construction projects in the Oil & Gas industry required
  • Significant experience in project controls, commercial operations, and/or prime contract experience with emphasis on project controls and financial issues required
  • Adhere to our corporate cost engineering procedures
  • Prepare internal and external cost reports as per the above - mentioned procedures and scope of services
  • Liaise with Client personnel as necessary
  • Analyze and prepare work - hour and cost forecasts for the projects
  • Attend and represent in meetings concerning cost matters
  • Identify and analyzing deviations and trends against the budgets. Investigating such deviations with the relevant group and advising Project Manager / Project Controls Manager of issues requiring corrective action
  • Review overall project status and forecast with Project Manager / Project Control Manager as required
  • Ensure reconciliation on a weekly and monthly basis between project cost reports and Accounting Department cost and billing information
  • Maintain awareness and understanding of relevant system operated by other departments

  • BSc Degree in Engineering subject or equivalent
  • Minimum of 15 years cost engineering experience in similar field
