Job summary

Wood is seeking a Cathodic Protection (CP) design engineer for Saudi Aramco related projects in Al Khobar. You will lead CP design for pipelines, tanks and vessels across onshore and offshore assets, ensuring compliance with SA Aramco, SABIC and Maaden standards.

With 10+ years in CP design, you will coordinate multi-discipline inputs, prepare SOWs and bidding documents, supervise junior engineers, and conduct site visits and training. Fluent English and a Saudi driving license are expected.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience on Saudi Aramco projects (onshore and offshore).
  • Extensive CP design for wells, tanks, pipelines and vessels.
  • In-depth knowledge of AMPP standards.
  • Proficient in English; Saudi driving license.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Cathodic Protection system design for Oil & Gas and petrochemical projects (FEED and detail design).
  • Prepare CP drawings and documents per Saudi Aramco, SABIC and Maaden standards.
  • Prepare SOW, TBE, TBC, MR, NMR and other CP bidding related documentation.
  • Attend pre-design KOM with client and present CP design approach.
  • Coordinate with all disciplines to develop deliverables and ensure input integration.
  • Capable of site installation, supervision, start-up and testing commissioning.
  • Lead and mentor junior engineers; conduct trainings as needed.

Project Deliverables

Quality, HSE and Assurance
  • Understands and works to quality system; monitors and acts on deficiencies
  • Checks Health, Safety, Environment and Security (HSES) issues are identified and addressed in design, manufacture, construction, commissioning and operations
  • Develops Project Specific Procedures
  • Ensures that the Engineering disciplines comply strictly with the contract and scope of work in completing project activities
  • Responsible for assuring quality of engineering deliverables before issue to customer
  • Chairs technical meetings with Third Parties and manages particular technical issues through to completion
Development and Management of Schedule
  • Plans individual work activities and manages time; liaises with disciplines to ensure timely receipt of comments
  • Inputs to work plan, sets targets and holds regular reviews
  • Expedite Engineers to deliver to schedule, fully understand reasons for delay and drive development of recovery plansResolves most delays or changes and escalates only most serious issues

People Management
  • Supervises work of technical professionals in the delivery of engineering deliverables including checking work
  • Coordinates medium sized interdisciplinary team (typically 10-50)

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for Cathodic Protection (CP) system design of Oil & Gas, hydrocarbon refinery, offshore, mining and Petrochemical Projects for FEED and detail design phases.
  • CP design drawings and documents preparation as per Saudi Aramco, SABIC and Maaden standards for Pipelines, Tanks, Well casings, In plant underground metallic equipment’s, etc.
  • To preparing SOW, TBE, TBC, MR, NMR review and other CP bidding related documentation.
  • To attend pre-design KOM with client and present CP design approach for new projects.
  • Prepare site visit agenda and check lists.
  • Revise and check engineering deliverables against company procedures, standards, and checklists.
  • Supervise engineering work being produced by juniors.
  • Conduct and provide trainings related to job as required.
  • Coordinates with all disciplines (as necessary) in the preparation and development of the deliverables and ensure that other disciplines input are incorporated.
  • Having experience of offshore CP system design, existing CP assessment and monitoring.
  • Collect site data required for cathodic protection design of well casing, AC mitigation and pipelines and EM34/31 usage.
  • To perform all site measurement as required for CP design i.e. Potential data of existing structure, existing CP system parameters, current measurement with flow direction.
  • Follow all safety requirements as per company policy.
  • Capable to perform site installation and supervision, CP system start-up and testing commissioning.
  • Self-capable of leading & handling projects, meeting with client, prepare presentation
Qualifications
  • Having minimum 10+ Yrs. of experience of working in Saudi Aramco projects both onshore & offshore mainly in design consultancies or GES+ companies.
  • Minimum 10 Yrs. Experience in CP Design preparation for Well casing, Tanks, Pipeline and vessels and well familiar with Saudi Aramco, SABIC and Maaden CP standards.
  • Having in-depth knowledge of AMPP standard
  • Having hands on experience of using al kind of CP survey equipment's on filed i.e. Soil resistivity meters, Current measurement, AC& DC potential data collection, CP system operating parameter collection.Basic knowledge of MicroStation operations
  • Must be proficient in English; oral and written communication
  • Should have basic knowledge on CP design preparation
  • Should have Saudi driving license & driving experience
