Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical Engineering.
• 15+ years of experience in power transformer design.
• Proven experience designing 220kV and above transformers.
• International experience in overseas transformer projects.
• Strong knowledge of IEC, SASO, SEC, and Saudi Aramco standards.
• Fluent in English and Arabic.

Responsibilities

• Lead the establishment of a localized design system for 220kV and above transformers, including standards and templates.
• Develop transformer designs in compliance with IEC, SASO, SEC, and Saudi Aramco standards.
• Prepare technical proposals, bid docs, clarifications, and design reviews for international projects.
• Review electromagnetic, insulation, mechanical, lead arrangement, and tank designs.
• Optimize designs for high ambient temps, desert conditions, and sandstorms.
• Control changes, material selection, and outputs with local manufacturing considerations.
• Lead investigation and root cause analysis for major design issues.
• Mentor local design engineers with training materials and programs.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, testing, quality, and process teams for readiness.

Responsible for leading the design and localization of high-voltage power transformers (220kV and above) for manufacturing operations in Saudi Arabia. The role focuses on establishing localized design standards, delivering technically optimized transformer solutions, supporting international bidding activities, and ensuring compliance with IEC, SASO, SEC, and Saudi Aramco requirements while mentoring local engineering talent.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the establishment of a localized design system for 220kV and above power transformers, including English design specifications, calculation standards, and drawing templates.
• Develop transformer designs in compliance with IEC, SASO, SEC, and Saudi Aramco technical standards and project requirements.
• Lead the preparation of technical proposals, bid documentation, technical clarifications, and customer design reviews for international projects.
• Perform and review electromagnetic, insulation, mechanical, lead arrangement, and tank structural designs for high-voltage transformers.
• Optimize transformer designs for Saudi operating conditions, including high ambient temperatures, desert environments, and sandstorm conditions.
• Control engineering changes, material selection, and design outputs while ensuring compatibility with local manufacturing capabilities and supply chains.
• Lead the investigation and resolution of major design issues, supporting manufacturing, testing, and field operations through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Mentor and train local design engineers by developing technical training materials and establishing engineering development programs.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, testing, quality, and process engineering teams to ensure successful product development and production readiness.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 15+ years of experience in power transformer design.
• Proven experience designing or leading the design of 220kV and above power transformers.
• International experience in overseas transformer projects, including design and project delivery.
• Strong expertise in electromagnetic, insulation, and structural design of high-voltage transformers.
• In-depth knowledge of IEC, SASO, SEC, and Saudi Aramco technical standards.
• Strong leadership, technical problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Fluency in English and Arabic.
