Job summary

Client of Hudson Manpower in Saudi Arabia is seeking highly qualified Design Engineers with extensive experience in the design of Extra High Voltage power transformers and shunt reactors.

The role requires hands-on experience with transformer and reactor design calculations, electromagnetic, thermal, dielectric and mechanical design, and familiarity with design software and manufacturing/testing requirements.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in the design of power transformers up to 500MVA, 400kV; Shunt reactors up to 200MVAR, 400kV.
• Knowledge of IEC/IEEE standards and international design practices.
• Familiarity with design software and engineering tools used for transformer and reactor design.

Responsibilities

• Design calculations and optimization for transformers and reactors.
• Collaborate in multidisciplinary engineering teams and document technical work.
• Ensure compliance with manufacturing/testing requirements and DFMA principles.

Technical Competencies

• Ability to perform transformer reactor design calculations and optimization
• Experience with electromagnetic, thermal, dielectric and mechanical design
• Familiarity with design software and engineering tools used for transformer and reactor design
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes, testing requirements and design‑for‑manufacturing principles

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of proven experience in the design of power transformers and shunt reactors
• Hands‑on experience in the design of: Power transformers up to 500MVA, 400kV; Shunt reactors up to 200MVAR, 400kV
• Proven expertise in electrical or mechanical design of EHV transformers and reactors
• Strong knowledge of international standards and design practices, including IEC and IEEE standards
• Bachelor in Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering
