Job summary

Acwa Power is seeking an experienced Power/Desalination/RO plant operations professional to manage shift activities, ensuring safe startup/shutdown, adherence to SOPs and environmental standards. You will coordinate with multiple departments, issue permits, and guide incident investigations while maintaining strict regulatory compliance.

The role requires 8 years of relevant experience, a BE, and preferably a postgraduate in power plant engineering, with SAP knowledge and HSE awareness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering is a must.
• Post graduate in engineering with power plant engineering preferred.
• 8 years in Power/Desalination/RO plant with Middle East experience.
• Awareness of Quality, Occupational Health & Safety and Environment PM systems.
• Knowledge of applicable legal requirements.
• Well familiar with conducting RCA.
• Aspect Impact assessment and spillage containment knowledge.
• Capable of managing HSE emergencies.
• Identification, classification and disposal of waste.
• Emission monitoring practices and parameters.
• Power/Desalination/RO operational activities.
• Leadership, analytical skills, and stress-driven decisions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safe startup/shutdown and ensure operations comply with SOPs and standards.
• Coordinate with departments and manage permit-to-work processes.
• Monitor plant status and maintain daily logs and reports.
• Lead corrective actions during emergencies and abnormal conditions.
• Provide on-the-job training and evaluate shift staff.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and drive IMS objectives.
• Prepare incident/accident reports and submit to authorities.
