Job summary

DHL Global Forwarding in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, seeks an OFR Operations Specialist to coordinate ocean freight operations, support rate and capacity management, and develop trade lane consolidations. You will ensure timely shipment documentation and collaborate with the Global DGF network to improve service quality.

You will build strong client relationships, analyze performance, and implement pricing strategies while maintaining high operational standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• More than 6 years of OFR operations experience.

Responsibilities

• Implement OFR Ops/CS plans and processes for ocean freight services.
• Analyze requirements for the freight control center and provide operational details.
• Coordinate freight administration for allocations and reservations on planned line haul.
• Develop plans for ocean freight products (perishables, pharma, aviation) and support pricing.
• Build relationships with clients, visit accounts, and maintain retention.
• Prepare and submit shipment documentation and assist tenders.
• Provide ongoing support to less experienced team members.

Build and Develop trade lane consolidations for South African export traffic. Engage with the Global DGF network to promote and develop the Gateway for neighboring countries and local coastal branches. Coordinate day to day operations within the Airfreight Gateway. Assist & support ACC Manager in rate & capacity procurement as required

In this Ocean Freight Specialist position

• Implement OFR Ops/CS plans and processes to provide ocean freight services for internal and external customers
• Analyze and collate to provide requirements of freight control center, and to support and provide operations team with the required details, information and instructions for operational performance
• Coordinate freight administration in providing allocation and reservations of freight on planned line haul
• Contribute to develop and execute plans for ocean freight products in areas such as perishables, pharmaceutical, aviation, etc.
• Identify opportunities to expand business with new clients and continuously improve in-house customer services
• Build close business relationship with existing clients, conduct customer visits and maintain a desired level of customer retention
• Stay updated on account performances, draft and provide monthly reports to management
• Implement pricing strategy and respond to pricing enquiries in an efficient and competitive manner
• Deliver day-to-day shipment documentation for freight forwarding, assist in development of shipping tenders and ensure on-time submission on relevant documents
• Seek opportunities to enhance ocean freight productivity, and efficient resource allocation and utilization
• Analyze and provide input for processes and design systems to enhance service quality
• Resolve and analyze issues in day-to-day delivery and implement practices for OFR Ops/CS focusing on increasing effectiveness and efficiency
• Provide support on issues and problems from less experienced/ new team members, provide direction and guidance as needed

In area of OFR product:

• Create and/or confirm transport orders, perform and optimize bookings
• Prepare, control, and distribute all required Import/Export documents
• Identify performance issues of suppliers, and propose solutions to improve performance
• Update Customs shipment information and physical status, resolve customer issues and incidents
