Pilog is seeking a detail-oriented Material Engineer in Saudi Arabia to support material cataloguing and master data management. You will convert catalogs into a structured, standardized format and ensure data quality while coordinating with project teams.

The role focuses on data cleansing, enrichment, standardization, and maintaining material and vendor master data. Requires 3+ years in related areas and familiarity with SAP/ERP systems.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in instrumentation, electrical, or mechanical engineering with 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in material cataloguing, master data management, and spare parts management preferred.
• Familiarity with UNSPSC and material coding concepts is desirable.

Job Description Material Engineer

Position: Material Engineer
Experience: 3+ Years
Location: Saudi Arabia (KSA)
Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Material Engineer with a background in Instrumentation, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering to support Material Cataloguing, Material Master Data Management, and Engineering Data Management activities.

The ideal candidate should have experience or knowledge in Data Cleansing, Data Enrichment, Data Standardization, Material Cataloguing, Material Classification, and Spare Parts Data Management.

The candidate will be responsible for analyzing source data and converting existing material catalogs into a structured, standardized, and accurate format.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Structure Material and Service Descriptions using Noun & Modifier methodology, Class Attributes, and appropriate Units of Measurement (UOM).
• Analyze source data received from OEMs, manufacturers, vendors, engineering documents, and existing material catalogs.
• Perform Data Cleansing to identify and correct incomplete, inaccurate, duplicate, or inconsistent material records.
• Perform Data Enrichment by reviewing available technical information and adding relevant material attributes and specifications.
• Perform Data Standardization of material descriptions, technical attributes, units of measurement, and other master data elements.
• Map material attributes and assign appropriate Group Codes and Logic Codes (UNSPSC) for accurate material classification.
• Identify and classify Maintainable Spare Parts based on equipment and maintenance requirements.
• Support the preparation and structuring of Bills of Materials (BOM) for equipment and spare parts.
• Maintain and update Material Master Data and Vendor Master Data within defined SLA timelines.
• Support the coding and conversion of existing catalogs into a structured and standardized format.
• Review existing catalog records and identify duplicate, obsolete, incomplete, or incorrect material records.
• Ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of material descriptions and technical attributes.
• Coordinate with senior Material Engineers and project teams to clarify technical information and resolve data discrepancies.
• Follow established Material Cataloguing Standards, Data Quality Guidelines, and Master Data Management procedures.
• Process large volumes of material records while maintaining high levels of data accuracy and quality.
• Maintain proper documentation and tracking of cataloguing activities and data quality improvements.

Technical Knowledge

• Basic understanding of Engineering Materials, Spare Parts, and Material Master Data.

• Knowledge of UNSPSC Classification and Material Coding.
• Ability to analyze source data and identify missing, duplicate, or inconsistent information.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including Filters, Sorting, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Data Validation, and basic data cleansing.
• Exposure to SAP MM, SAP MDG, ERP, MMS, or similar systems will be an added advantage.

Educational Qualification & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience in Material Cataloguing, Master Data Management, Engineering Data Management, Spare Parts Management, or related areas.
