Job summary

JAL International Co. Ltd. seeks a Mechanical Material Engineer to support material management for maintenance and operations. You will evaluate material specs, review drawings, and ensure timely availability of materials in compliance with requirements.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering and at least 5 years in plant maintenance within petrochemical/oil & gas sectors, with knowledge of ASME/ASTM/API and SAP MM/PM.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of plant maintenance experience in petrochemical/oil & gas/industrial sectors.
• Strong knowledge of material specifications, standards, and maintenance practices.
• Familiarity with ASME, ASTM and API codes and standards.
• Experience with SAP Material & Plant Management (MM & PM).

Responsibilities

• Review material requests, technical specs, and engineering requirements.
• Verify material compliance with drawings, datasheets, standards, and specs.
• Conduct technical evaluations of vendor offers and provide recommendations.
• Coordinate with maintenance, engineering, procurement and warehouse for planning and availability.
• Review drawings, P&IDs, isometrics to determine material requirements.
• Support maintenance planning by identifying critical materials and lead times.
• Ensure proper material coding and cataloging within SAP.
• Provide technical support, material assessments, and engineering recommendations.
• Participate in troubleshooting material-related issues and propose solutions.

Minimum Qualifications

Required Skills

• Proficiency in SAP Material & Plant Management (MM & PM).
