Salary: 45,000 - 60,000 per year (estimated range; final offer to be confirmed with the employer).
Role Context: The Manager – MEP Construction will lead and coordinate terminal building MEP construction activities to ensure that airport systems are delivered safely, correctly, and in line with approved design documents, aviation standards, project schedules, quality requirements, and operational constraints. The position requires close coordination between MEP contractors, architectural teams, structural teams, airport systems specialists, BIM teams, ORAT teams, testing and commissioning teams, and live‑airport stakeholders. This role helps ensure that integrated building services are installed, tested, validated, and handed over in a way that supports reliable terminal operations and phased airport readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage construction execution and coordination of all MEP systems within airport terminal facilities.
- Oversee mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire and life safety, ICT, ELV, building services, and airport operational system interfaces.
- Ensure all MEP works comply with approved design drawings, specifications, NFPA standards, aviation codes, local authority requirements, and project procedures.
- Coordinate MEP activities with architectural, structural, façade, finishes, baggage, ICT, ELV, security, airport systems, and operational packages.
- Monitor contractor performance, manpower levels, productivity, installation quality, sequencing, and technical compliance.
- Lead site coordination for MEP works in active terminal zones, constrained construction areas, phased delivery areas, and operationally sensitive airport environments.
- Support construction sequencing and interface planning to avoid conflicts between services, structures, finishes, airport systems, and operational access requirements.
- Conduct technical reviews, site inspections, installation checks, quality audits, and progress reviews for MEP construction activities.
- Review method statements, inspection and test plans, shop drawings, technical submittals, RFIs, material approvals, and construction documentation related to MEP works.
- Support digital delivery, BIM coordination, federated model reviews, clash detection, and resolution of physical and technical conflicts before site execution.
- Coordinate with QA/QC teams to verify inspection records, non‑conformance closures, testing documentation, and quality compliance.
- Work with HSE teams to ensure safe installation practices, permit compliance, work‑at‑height controls, energization procedures, and live testing safeguards.
- Oversee testing, commissioning, integrated systems validation, and readiness checks for terminal building services.
- Coordinate with ORAT and testing and commissioning teams to support phased commissioning, operational trials, training, and transition to airport operations.
- Track construction progress, identify delays or coordination risks, and support recovery actions to protect project milestones.
- Resolve site issues involving contractors, consultants, suppliers, airport stakeholders, and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Provide regular progress updates, technical reports, issue summaries, inspection findings, and management briefings.
- Promote disciplined construction delivery focused on safety, quality, schedule control, airport readiness, and reliable long-term terminal operations.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 15 years of MEP construction management experience on major building, aviation, infrastructure, or complex facility projects.
- Proven experience delivering MEP systems within airport terminal construction projects.
- Strong understanding of integrated building systems, fire and life safety systems, ICT, ELV, airport operational systems, and terminal building services.
- Essential experience in airport construction projects, preferably involving terminal facilities, live‑airport constraints, phased handover, and operational readiness.
- Middle East project experience required.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, controls, building automation, low‑current systems, and aviation facility requirements.
- Experience coordinating MEP construction with architecture, structure, finishes, airport systems, BIM, commissioning, and ORAT activities.
- Good understanding of NFPA standards, aviation codes, local authority requirements, safety procedures, construction quality systems, and project specifications.
- Ability to manage contractor performance, resolve technical issues, lead inspections, and maintain progress in a fast‑paced construction environment.
- Experience in design‑build and modular construction environments preferred.
- Computer literate with the ability to use project documentation, reporting, coordination, and technical review tools.
- Effective oral and written communication skills for site coordination, reporting, technical reviews, and stakeholder engagement.
- Demonstrated growth potential through strong performance in previous construction management or MEP leadership roles.
