Job summary

Allegis Group seeks an experienced Launch Manufacturing Engineering Specialist – EV to drive the setup of a new electric powertrain manufacturing facility north of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The role covers installation, commissioning, process qualification and ramp‑up through Start of Production, with visa support provided.

The ideal candidate has 5–10 years of hands‑on process engineering on high‑volume automotive lines, knowledge of PFMEA/PPAP and strong English communication skills.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years minimum in process engineering in high‑volume manufacturing (automotive powertrain or components)
• Hands‑on production floor experience: own a process at rate, not just paper design
• Clear command of automotive quality methods: PFMEA, control plans, 8D, root cause analysis, APQP and PPAP

Responsibilities

• Lead the launch of a brand‑new EV powertrain manufacturing facility and support ramp‑up to full production.
• Oversee equipment installation, commissioning, and process qualification for high‑volume manufacturing.
• Ensure adherence to APQP/PPAP processes and drive consistency on the production line.

Job description

A global engineering and project delivery consultancy that partners with some of the world's leading automotive, battery, manufacturing, and technology organisations are looking for an experienced Launch manufacturing engineering Specialist - EV to play a key role in the launch of a brand-new electric powertrain manufacturing facility in the Middle East. You'll be joining the company to support a major automotive client as they scale up production of cutting-edge electric drive systems, including e-motors, inverters, and integrated e-drive assemblies.

You'll be involved in the complete lifecycle of a new production line, from equipment installation and commissioning through process qualification, run-at-rate, PPAP, Start of Production, and ramp-up to full-scale manufacturing.

The site is north of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. It will be a contract role until the end of 2027 (view to extend). Work visa support by the company.

Experience

• Engineering degree (MSc or equivalent) in mechanical, electrical, mechatronic, manufacturing, materials or industrial engineering.
• 5 to 10 years minimum for process engineering in high-volume manufacturing — automotive powertrain or components, electric motors, electronics, or comparable takt-driven assembly.
• Hands‑on production floor experience: you have owned a process at rate, not only designed one on paper.
• Command of automotive quality methods: PFMEA, control plans, 8D, root cause analysis, APQP and PPAP.
• Clear written and verbal communication in English
