Job summary

Lucid Motors Middle East seeks a Manufacturing Process Engineering Manager to lead process strategy, industrialization, and readiness for AMP-2 Powertrain operations. You will drive capability, problem solving, and cross-functional execution to ensure efficient, safe, and compliant manufacturing at scale.

You will own PFMEA/Control Plans, enable Industry 4.0 deployment, and collaborate with Product Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to meet aggressive ramp and launch targets while developing

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Control Engineering; Master's preferred.
  • 10+ years in advanced automated manufacturing; 5+ years in senior maintenance/reliability/engineering leadership.
  • Demonstrated leadership of Maintenance, Automation, and Reliability functions in an EV or high-automation OEM/Tier-1.
  • Proven greenfield launch and TPM deployment experience.
  • Strong track record with CMMS platforms (SAP PM, Maximo, or equivalent).
  • Fluent in English; Arabic strongly preferred.
  • Preferred: CMRP; Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt; TPM certification; EV Powertrain launch experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with commissioning, FAT/SAT, launch, production readiness or high-volume manufacturing ramp within the role discipline.
  • Working knowledge of IATF 16949, APQP/change control, machine/HV safety and traceability requirements applicable to the role.
  • Ability to support site, shift, weekend, shutdown or emergency activities when operationally required.
  • Preferred: recognized discipline certification, Lean/Six Sigma, greenfield EV/automotive launch and KSA workforce-development experience

Responsibilities

  • Develop process strategies and manufacturing standards.
  • Lead line balancing, process optimization and industrialization.
  • Lead RCA governance and closed-loop failure elimination.
  • Direct PE technicians and engineering builds support; ensure tooling, gauge, and equipment engineering coverage.
  • Partner with Product Engineering and other functions on capability improvement, launch support, and NPI.
  • Own PFMEA, Control Plans, process capability and validation.
  • Implement error proofing and robust process controls.
  • Collaborate across Production, Quality, Maintenance, Automation/Robotics, Manufacturing Engineering, EHS, IT/OT, MES, Supply Chain and suppliers to achieve the department's goals and objectives.
  • Support FAT/SAT, commissioning, Safe Launch and volume ramp.
  • Lead readiness reviews and operational escalations.
  • Drive OEE, cycle time reduction and waste elimination.
  • Lead structured problem solving and cost improvement.
  • Support the TPM function; deploy Autonomous Maintenance, Planned Maintenance, and Focused Improvement pillars.
  • Own equipment standards and measure reports.
  • Own parts of the OEE, MTBF, and MTTR performance across scope.
  • Drive Industry 4.0 deployment, including MES, IIoT, machine connectivity, historian analytics, and predictive maintenance.
  • Enforce HV LOTO, HVIL continuity, and mandatory HV PPE for all work on or near EV Powertrain equipment.
  • Comply with SASO, Saudi MOL, IEC 60204, and functional safety standards (ISO 13849 / IEC 62061).
  • Support HV emergency response including thermal runaway isolation and battery-related incident procedures.
  • Achieve and maintain HV safety competency appropriate to scope of work.
  • Own Safe Launch, run-at-rate, and capacity verification governance through SOP and volume ramp.
  • Chair Launch Readiness Reviews, Layered Process Audits, and Process Confirmation routines.
  • Lead QRQC / War Room escalation during launch and ramp-up phases.
  • Ensure operational readiness for future powertrain variants and product introductions.
  • Design the integrated Maintenance, Reliability, Automation, Robotics, Spares and Manufacturing Engineering operating model, coverage and governance.
  • Own technical Opex/Capex, lifecycle risk, obsolescence, service contracts, vendor performance and make/buy decisions across the asset base.
  • Establish EEM, maintainability, reliability, controls and spare-parts acceptance criteria for new equipment and future variants.
  • Build leadership succession and multi-year Saudi technical capability pipeline with measurable certification and ownership transfer.
  • Support FAT/SAT, commissioning, equipment acceptance, Safe Launch, run-at-rate and capacity verification with objective evidence and disciplined punch-list closure.
  • Control production, process, software and test changes through documented risk assessment, approvals, validation, revision history and rollback or containment planning.
  • Participate in readiness reviews, Layered Process Audits, Process Confirmation and QRQC/RCCA; close assigned actions with verified effectiveness.
  • Apply HV LOTO/HVIL, machine safety, stored-energy isolation, electrical safe-work and PPE requirements.
  • Protect product genealogy, calibrated-tool status, test/measurement integrity, document control and audit-ready objective evidence.
  • Comply with applicable AMP-2, SASO, Saudi labor/EHS, IATF 16949, IEC 60204 and functional-safety requirements within assigned scope.
  • Build Saudi national capability through structured OJT, ILU/skills matrices, practical assessment, certification, cross-training and documented knowledge transfer.
  • Create technical standards, troubleshooting guides and training material.
  • Coach direct reports on active development of Saudi nationals as a personal KPI.

Position Overview

The Manufacturing Process Engineering Manager is responsible for developing, industrializing, validating, optimizing, and sustaining manufacturing processes across AMP-2 Powertrain operations. The role owns process capability, production readiness, process control, industrialization, continuous improvement, and capability building across the site. The role operates through disciplined change control, objective launch evidence, cross-functional problem solving, and structured transfer of technical ownership to the workforce.

Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing Process Strategy & Industrialization
  • Manufacturing Process Strategy & Industrialization
  • Develop process strategies and manufacturing standards.
