The Laboratory Operations Officer provides technical and operational support for pharmacy laboratories within the College of Pharmacy Supports the preparation and readiness of laboratories equipment materials supplies and safety requirements for scheduled laboratory sessions Assists faculty lecturers and teaching assistants during laboratory sessions and supports routine inventory equipment safety documentation and administrative activities Performs assigned duties in accordance with Alfaisal University policies procedures and applicable regulations
Primary Duties amp Responsibilities
- Prepares pharmacy laboratories equipment materials reagents and supplies for scheduled laboratory sessions and ensures required resources are available and ready for use
- Provides technical and operational assistance to faculty members lecturers and teaching assistants during laboratory sessions by supporting the availability and proper setup of equipment materials and facilities
- Maintains laboratory inventory records for chemicals reagents consumables equipment and other supplies and reports shortages to the supervisor for replenishment
- Supports routine laboratory equipment and facility maintenance by checking equipment condition reporting technical issues and following up on assigned maintenance and repair requests
- Follows approved laboratory safety procedures checks the availability of personal protective equipment maintains related records and promptly reports hazards or incidents to the person responsible
- Supports laboratory cleaning and readiness by ensuring work areas equipment and facilities are appropriately cleaned and restored after laboratory sessions and prepared for subsequent use
- Assists with the operational readiness of pharmacy simulation and specialized laboratory areas by preparing equipment materials technology and other required resources according to scheduled activities
- Supports faculty-led research and student projects by preparing and arranging required laboratory equipment materials and facilities under the direction of the responsible faculty member or supervisor
- Provides technical assistance during research and project activities by supporting the proper use of laboratory equipment materials and facilities without conducting independent research or assuming academic responsibility
- Maintains laboratory records and documentation including equipment records maintenance records safety documentation laboratory schedules and other assigned operational records
- Supports quality assurance and accreditation activities by providing requested laboratory data records KPIs and supporting documents to the supervisor or relevant College and University offices
- Liaises on operational requests with faculty lecturers teaching assistants Facilities Procurement IT and other relevant departments and follows up on assigned requirements under the direction of the supervisor
- Performs assigned administrative duties related to College and University initiatives including preparing routine reports maintaining documentation attending meetings and completing other assigned tasks
- Performs all other duties in a professional effective and confidential manner
- Performs all other related duties as required or assigned by the line manager
Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry or a related field from an accredited institution.
Minimum of two (02) years of experience in laboratory operations, equipment, inventory management, safety procedures, and technical support or related services.
