Job summary

Astek is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Operations Engineer in Riyadh to join our client's team. The role covers managing Windows and Linux servers, virtualization, cloud administration, and network security across on-premises and hybrid environments.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in infrastructure operations, strong networking knowledge, and hands-on cloud experience (Azure/AWS). Excellent English communication and documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/ networking or related field.
• 3+ years hands-on experience in infrastructure operations.
• Experience managing servers and virtualized environments.
• Strong TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing knowledge.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS or similar technologies.
• Basic knowledge of load balancing, IAM, and cybersecurity controls.
• Experience with infrastructure monitoring and ticketing tools.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently.
• Good written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Investigate incidents, perform root-cause analysis and escalate complex issues.
• Liaise with vendors and service providers to resolve technical problems.
• Contribute to infrastructure handovers, knowledge transfer and operational improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in infrastructure operations, systems administration or a similar role.
• Hands-on experience managing servers and virtualized environments.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing and general networking principles.
• Practical experience supporting switches, wireless networks and firewalls.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS or similar technologies.
• Basic knowledge of load balancing, identity and access management, and cybersecurity controls.
• Experience with infrastructure monitoring and IT service-management or ticketing tools.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently when required.
• Effective communication, reporting and technical documentation abilities.
• Good command of written and spoken English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant certifications from Microsoft, Cisco, VMware, AWS, Azure or equivalent providers.
• Experience working with Cisco ISE and CCTV infrastructure.
• Background supporting hybrid cloud and on-premises environments.
• ITIL Foundation certification or practical knowledge of IT service-management processes.
