The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent qualification. An Associate Degree in a technical, engineering, or construction-related discipline is preferred, although equivalent relevant field experience may also be considered. Candidates should have at least five years of construction inspection or field project experience involving infrastructure, transportation, civil, building, or public works activities. The successful inspector should be comfortable reading construction drawings, plans, specifications, Method Statements, contracts, and inspection documentation and comparing these requirements directly with field conditions. Practical knowledge of workmanship inspection, construction materials, non-conformance processes, quality control, quantity measurement, and daily documentation is essential. Experience reviewing installed quantities, progress payment estimates, and additional work quantities will be valuable. Familiarity with construction schedules and understanding how inspection activities affect project progress are also important. Candidates should be able to identify unsafe conditions, technical conflicts, defects, and noncompliant work and communicate concerns clearly to supervisors and contractors. Experience with roads, highways, bridges, drainage, utilities, traffic systems, street lighting, structures, or other major public infrastructure will strengthen suitability. A bachelor 's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or another related discipline is advantageous. OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety training or equivalent, highway construction certifications, materials testing credentials, or relevant inspection qualifications are also preferred. Good English communication skills, Microsoft Office capability, disciplined record keeping, attention to detail, and the physical ability to perform field-based inspection duties are required.
