Job summary

Air Products in Jubail, Saudi Arabia, seeks a skilled HYCO Lead Operator to manage and supervise a world-scale Steam Methane Reformer facility. You will lead the shift, ensure safe, reliable operation, and coordinate with engineering and maintenance.

Bachelor’s degree in chemical/ mechanical process operations with 10 years’ experience preferred; strong DCS operation, English proficiency, and the ability to make quick, informed decisions under pressure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, mechanical, or chemical process operations or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of lead DCS operations experience in SMR-based hydrogen or related processes.
• Strong understanding of chemical engineering principles and process control.
• Proven ability to operate and lead on a fast-paced industrial site.
• Proficiency in English (speaking and writing).

Responsibilities

• Lead HYCO unit operations and supervise shift staff to meet safety and production targets.
• Coordinate with engineering and maintenance for troubleshooting and outages.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and documentation (LOTO, work permits).
• Manage daily production planning, instrumentation, and data-driven decisions.
• Act as on-shift crisis and emergency coordinator and communicate with customer-level stakeholders.
