Job summary

Air Products seeks a Lead Operator for the HYCO unit in Jubail, Saudi Arabia. You will supervise shift staff, operate the HYCO reformer and STG, and manage safety work permits, LOTO, and preventative maintenance.

You will coordinate commissioning and startup activities and ensure safe, reliable operation to meet customer demand. The role requires deep DCS experience (Yokogawa Centum VP, Siemens PCS 7), strong problem solving, and excellent English communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, mechanical, or chemical process operations with 10 years’ experience preferred.
• DCS Operation & Field Operation, with minimum of 5 years’ Lead DCS Operations
• Experience in SMR based Hydrogen or Ammonia or Methanol or Syngas plant as DCS Operator
• Proficiency with DCS platforms (e.g. Yokogawa Centum VP, Siemens PCS 7)
• Strong problem solving and diagnostic abilities; effective communication in English

Responsibilities

• Safety: Provide & maintain a safe work environment and lead safety processes.
• Operate HYCO Steam Methane Reformer unit and ancillary equipment and pipeline network.
• Lead and supervise HYCO operators on shift; train and support staff; issue safety permits (LOTO) and handle maintenance supports.
• Coordinate commissioning, startup, and shutdown activities; ensure plant reliability and performance.
• Monitor plant performance, report progress, and implement corrective actions; liaise with HSSE, engineering, and maintenance.
