Job summary

Kerten Hospitality, headquartered in Jeddah, seeks an experienced accounting professional to oversee the hotel’s financial operations at The House Hotel Jeddah. The role focuses on general ledger management, month-end closing, and regulatory compliance within a dynamic hospitality environment.

Ideal candidates hold a degree in Accounting/Finance, 3–5 years in hospitality accounting, and fluency in English and Arabic. Knowledge of PMS/POS systems and ERP software is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in hospitality.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting, and local tax requirements.
• Experience with hotel systems such as PMS, POS, and accounting software (Sun Systems, Oracle, SAP).
• Fluent in English and Arabic.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the hotel’s general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll support.
• Lead month-end and year-end closing activities and prepare financial reports.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Assist in budgets, forecasts, and financial statements.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and government entities on audits, VAT, zakat, and filings.
• Maintain fixed asset registers and oversee inventory counts and cost control.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies, internal controls, and local regulations.
• Train and support staff on accounting procedures and systems.

About The Role

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage and maintain the hotel’s general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
• Ensure smooth operation of accounting processes such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll support.
• Lead month-end and year-end closing activities and ensure timely preparation of financial reports.
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial statements.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and government entities on audits, VAT, zakat, and statutory filings.
• Maintain fixed asset registers and oversee inventory counts and cost control records.
• Ensure compliance with company financial policies, internal controls, and local accounting and tax regulations.
• Train and support staff on accounting procedures, financial systems, and best practices.

Experience & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA/SOCPA/ACCA certification is an advantage).
• Minimum 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, IFRS, financial reporting, and local tax requirements.
• Experience with hotel systems such as PMS, POS, and accounting software (e.g. Sun Systems, Oracle, or SAP) is preferred.
• Ability to manage reconciliations, reporting deadlines, and audit requirements.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with high proficiency in Excel.
• Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and integrity.
• Fluent in English and Arabic.
