Role Context
The Design Manager provides day-to-day leadership across multidisciplinary infrastructure design activities, helping project teams move efficiently from early development through formal reviews, approvals, and delivery. Working with senior management, consultants, technical specialists, stakeholders, and delivery teams, the role ensures design information is coordinated, technically complete, and issued in line with programme requirements. Strong management of design risks, interfaces, approvals, and technical records helps prevent downstream construction issues, maintain decision‑making momentum, and protect overall project quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Senior Management and the Senior Design Manager with the coordination and assurance of design delivery across all project stages.
- Manage multidisciplinary design activities across assigned projects, packages, and asset scopes.
- Coordinate design consultants and technical teams to maintain alignment with approved briefs and project requirements.
- Review design submissions for technical quality, completeness, coordination, and readiness for approval.
- Monitor consultant deliverables against agreed schedules, milestones, and stage gate requirements.
- Ensure review comments and outstanding actions are addressed within required timelines.
- Support resolution of design clashes between disciplines and project systems.
- Coordinate responses to technical queries affecting design progression.
- Assist teams in resolving constructability concerns before they create delivery or construction constraints.
- Maintain visibility of key design decisions and ensure outcomes are clearly communicated.
- Maintain design trackers covering submissions, comments, approvals, and outstanding requirements.
- Manage action logs and follow up responsibilities assigned during coordination meetings.

- Bachelor 's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in design coordination or design management roles.
