Key Responsibilities
- Support development and implementation of the project design strategy from concept through completion.
- Provide technical leadership and design guidance during construction.
- Oversee design work produced by consultants, contractors, and specialist suppliers.
- Confirm that design activities comply with approved safety, quality, and technical requirements.
- Review and approve multidisciplinary drawings, specifications, reports, calculations, and technical submissions.
- Verify compliance with project requirements, applicable codes, authority standards, and regulatory approvals.
- Coordinate architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and specialist design disciplines.
- Resolve design issues affecting construction quality, programme performance, productivity, or delivery.
- Work closely with project managers, directors, engineers, and discipline leads.
- Coordinate design schedules and interfaces involving clients, third‑party consultants, contractors, and local stakeholders.
- Integrate competing design requirements and conflicting project elements into coordinated delivery plans.
- Identify cross‑discipline interfaces and ensure responsibilities are clearly assigned.
- Support preparation of the Project Design Management Plan.

- Track design risks, approvals, dependencies, and critical decisions.
- Escalate unresolved technical and programme issues to senior management.
- Monitor progress against major design milestones.
- Prepare regular design status reports, dashboards, correspondence, and executive presentations.
- Report design progress, cost impacts, schedule conditions, and emerging risks.
- Establish weekly design management meetings.
- Review current performance and assign clear actions, responsibilities, and completion dates.
- Mentor design managers, engineers, and technical professionals.
- Promote consistent design standards, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
- Maintain effective relationships with international consultants and multidisciplinary delivery teams.
- Perform other responsibilities associated with senior design management.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or a related technical or business discipline.
- Minimum 15 years of engineering, architecture, or design management experience.
- At least 10 years of direct experience in construction and design execution environments.
- Proven experience supporting large‑scale infrastructure, development, or construction programs.
- Strong capability in multidisciplinary design management.
- Demonstrated experience leading consultants, contractors, and internal design teams.
- Comprehensive knowledge of engineering and architectural standards, codes, and procedures.
- Strong understanding of regulatory approval processes and authority requirements.
- Experience managing design from concept through detailed design and construction support.
- Ability to review complex technical submissions across multiple disciplines.
- Strong knowledge of design governance, technical assurance, and quality management.
- Experience developing design management plans, design briefs, KPIs, and consultant deliverables.
