Job summary

Alfanar Projects is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with a minimum of 10 years in electrical design for power plants, industrial, oil & gas, or EPC projects. You will lead MV/LV systems, switchgear, transformers, MCCs, PCCs, and distribution boards, and review SLDs and protection schemes.

The role requires coordination across civil, mechanical, instrumentation, and process teams, and proficiency in ETAP, AutoCAD, or EPLAN. Site support and testing experience are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant electrical design & engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of IEC, IEEE, NFPA and NEC standards.
• Proficiency in ETAP, AutoCAD and/or EPLAN.
• Strong ability to coordinate with clients, consultants, vendors and subcontractors.
• Ability to work under pressure and deliver within project deadlines.
• Experience with MV/LV switchgear, transformers, MCCs, PCCs, distribution boards and UPS systems.
• Experience in preparation and review of SLDs, cable sizing and voltage-drop calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review Single Line Diagrams (SLD) and cable sizing calculations.
• Review transformer and generator sizing, earthing and protection designs.
• Coordinate with civil, mechanical, instrumentation and process disciplines.
• Review IFC drawings, vendor drawings and technical submittals.
• FAT, SAT testing, commissioning and site technical support.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, vendors and subcontractors.
• Produce clear technical reports and communications.

Job description

Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical design and engineering, preferably in power plants, industrial, oil & gas, or EPC projects.

Strong experience in Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) electrical systems.

Experience with MV/LV switchgear, transformers, MCCs, PCCs, distribution boards, and UPS systems.

Good knowledge of electrical protection, coordination, and short-circuit calculations.

• Experience in preparation and review of:
• Single Line Diagrams (SLD)
• Cable sizing and voltage-drop calculations
• Transformer and generator sizing
• Earthing and lightning protection designs
• Lighting and small-power systems
• Electrical equipment specifications and datasheets

Ability to review IFC drawings, vendor drawings, and technical submittals.

Familiarity with international standards such as IEC, IEEE, NFPA, and NEC.

Experience coordinating with civil, mechanical, instrumentation, and process disciplines.

Good knowledge of electrical design software such as ETAP, AutoCAD, and/or EPLAN.

Experience with FAT, SAT, testing, commissioning, and site technical support is preferred.

Strong ability to coordinate with clients, consultants, vendors, and subcontractors.

Good technical report writing and communication skills.

Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.

Preferred: Experience in power generation / gas turbine projects and Saudi Aramco/SEC or similar utility standards.
