Job summary

Fakeeh Care Group is seeking a Biomedical Engineer to ensure the safe and efficient operation of medical equipment by performing maintenance, repairs, and training on its proper use in compliance with healthcare standards.

Requirements include a minimum of 5 years in service and maintenance of medical equipment and a bachelor’s degree in Electronics or Biomedical Engineering. Excellent English is required, with Arabic preferred, and the role is based on site.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in service and maintenance of medical equipment in a hospital or medical equipment services provider.
• Bachelor degree in Electronics or Biomedical Engineering.
• Excellent command of English; Arabic preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assures the working conditions of medical equipment within the domain of specialties and reports to Biomedical Engineering Unit Manager.
• Performs and/or supervises corrective maintenance and ensures completion with service reports.
• Performs and/or supervises scheduled preventive maintenance per manufacturer checklist.
• Coordinates installation and dismantling of medical equipment with proper documentation.
• Assists in evaluating spare parts offers and training for facility users.
• Ensures environmental and technical specifications fulfillment of equipment at site.
• Maintains training for Fakeeh Health Care facility users.

Job Purpose

To ensure the safe and efficient operation of biomedical equipment by performing maintenance, repairs, and providing training on its proper use, in compliance with national and international healthcare accreditation standards and applicable regulations.

Key Responsibilities And Duties

• Assures the working conditions of Fakeeh Health Care facility medical equipment’s in his / her domain of specialties and reports to Biomedical Engineering Unit Manager on any urgent stage related to Biomedical Equipment.


• Works independently and/or collaboratively with other BME Department members according to the job requirement, to minimize the down time of the medical equipment in his domain of specialties.


• Suggests to Biomedical Engineering Manager / Director the necessary tools, test equipment as well as service materials required for the medical equipment in his domain of specialties.


• Performs and/or supervises corrective jobs for medical equipment whenever is needed and confirm completion of this task by signed service report from end-user and debrief action taken on the system


• Performs and/or supervises scheduled PPM’s per manufacturer checklist and confirm completion of this task by signed service report from end-user and debrief action taken on the system


• Performs and/or supervises medical equipment installation and dismantling activities after getting necessary permits from the Medical Equipment Department Head this includes complete needed documentation for new acceptance & scrap process.


• Controls the work and follow-up the daily request to be distributed to Biomedical Technician and follow-up the action taken for each job order.


• Assists Supply Chain Department in evaluating the medical equipment spare parts offers.


• Assures the environmental and technical specifications fulfillment of the new and existing medical equipment in site.


• Reports to the Biomedical Engineering Manager / Director in monthly basis including execution status of the PPM Plan for medical equipment.


• Responds to urgent incidents and perform immediate actions in coordination with Biomedical Engineering Manager / Director.


• Orders missing equipment / spare parts and product catalogues for medical equipment in his domain of specialties and assures keeping them organized.


• Controlling the training needed for Fakeeh Health Care facility users and do the necessary training of needed.


• Always Observes and supervises the Biomedical Workshop activities.

Minimum 5 years’ experience in service and maintenance activities of medical equipment in his domain of specialty in either hospital or medical equipment services provider company.

Education

Bachelor degree of Electronics or Biomedical Engineering.

Language

Excellent command of oral and written English and prefer Arabic.

Licenses / Certifications

Hold a valid license to practice as a Biomedical Engineer issued by the relevant regulatory authority.
