Job summary

Sofitel Riyadh Hotel & Convention Center is seeking an enthusiastic Barista to join our luxury team. You will craft high-quality specialty beverages and pastries, greet guests, and educate customers on coffee options with passion and professionalism.

Reporting to the Outlet Supervisor, you will maintain quality, manage inventory, and ensure a spotless, safe coffee bar in a fast-paced luxury setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of F&B or retail experience within the last 2 years.
• Proven barista experience with specialty coffee preparation.
• Proficiency with espresso machines and cafe equipment.
• Strong cash handling skills and POS experience.
• Excellent communication and customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

We're looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Barista to join our dynamic team. Delivering exceptional service while crafting high-quality specialty beverages. Reporting to the Outlet Supervisor / Outlet Manager, you will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Welcoming guests, informing them about specials or new items, answering questions, and accepting orders and payments.
• Promotes coffee consumption by educating customers; selling coffee and coffee grinding and brewing equipment, accessories, and supplies; preparing and serving a variety of coffee drinks, along with pastries.
• Sells coffees and coffee grinding and brewing equipment by explaining differences in coffee beans and coffee preparation machines; demonstrating how brewing equipment operates.
• Prepares and sells coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques for coffee drinks, such as, espresso, caffe latte, and cappuccino.
• Generates revenues by attracting new customers; defining new and expanded services and products.
• Maintains inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply; stocking coffee brewing equipment; maintaining supplies, pastries, and cookies for coffee bar.
• Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
• Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations.
• Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; implementing changes; maintaining and improving the appearance of the store and coffee bar.
• Learning about brewing methods, beverage blends, food preparation, and presentation techniques to improve food quality.
• Maintain a clean dining area, sanitizing tables and chairs, and sweeping crumbs off of the floor
• Adhering to all food safety regulations and quality controls.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Food & Beverage and/or retail experience within the last 2 years
• Proven barista experience with demonstrated expertise in specialty coffee preparation
• Proficiency with espresso machines, grinders, and other café equipment
• Strong cash handling skills and experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused mindset
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
• Experience in a luxury hospitality or upscale café environment
• Multilingual abilities, particularly Arabic language skills
• Experience with inventory management and stock rotation
• Knowledge of latte art and advanced coffee presentation techniques
• Previous experience working in diverse, multicultural team environments
