JOB TITLE: Barista
REPORTING TO: Supervisor / Assistant Restaurant Manager / Restaurant Manager
THE POSITION
The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving exceptional specialty coffee, Saudi coffee, teas, and other non-alcoholic beverages to guests across the hotel's restaurants, lounges, and service areas. This role requires strong knowledge of coffee, precise beverage preparation skills, attention to detail, and a warm, guest-focused service approach.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Coffee Expertise and Execution
- Prepare and serve high-quality espresso-based coffees, filter coffees, Saudi coffee, teas, and other non-alcoholic beverages using premium ingredients and approved recipes
- Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the hotel's coffee, tea, and non-alcoholic beverage offerings, including origins, flavour profiles, brewing methods, and presentation standards
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations and suggestions to guests, enhancing their overall dining and beverage experience
- Ensure consistent and precise preparation of all beverages, adhering to standardized recipes, brewing techniques, portion control, and presentation standards
Guest Service and Satisfaction
- Deliver exceptional customer service, anticipating guests' needs and responding promptly to their requests
- Engage with guests in a friendly and personable manner, building rapport and fostering a welcoming atmosphere
- Address guest concerns and feedback in a timely and professional manner, escalating issues to the Restaurant / Beverage Manager as needed
- Contribute to the overall ambiance and atmosphere of the outlet, helping to create a memorable guest experience
Operational Efficiency
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked coffee station, ensuring all equipment, tools, cups, and service items are in good condition
- Monitor inventory levels for coffee beans, teas, milk, syrups, garnishes, disposables, and related supplies, placing requests as necessary
- Adhere to all applicable safety, hygiene, and sanitation policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with local regulations
- Collaborate with the Restaurant / Beverage Manager and F&B team to optimize workflows and service procedures.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Hospitality, Barista, or Food & Beverage certification preferred
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a Barista in an upscale hotel, cafe, lounge, or restaurant setting
- Strong knowledge of coffee beans, espresso extraction, milk texturing, brewing methods, and coffee presentation standards
- Proficiency in preparing a wide range of classic and contemporary coffee and non-alcoholic beverages, including latte art where applicable
- Strong customer service orientation, with the ability to engage with guests and provide exceptional service
- Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and coffee equipment maintenance procedures
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Arabic is preferred
- Flexible to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
- Local market experience is an asset
