Job summary

Sofitel Riyadh Hotel & Convention Center is seeking an enthusiastic Barista to join our team. You will craft high-quality specialty beverages and deliver exceptional guest service in a luxury setting.

Responsibilities include welcoming guests, educating on coffee options, preparing drinks, and maintaining cleanliness and stock. Flexibility for varied shifts and a passion for hospitality are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Food & Beverage and/or retail experience within the last 2 years.
• Proven barista experience with demonstrated expertise in specialty coffee preparation.
• Proficiency with espresso machines, grinders and other caf equipment.
• Strong cash handling skills and experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused mindset.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays.
• Experience in a luxury hospitality or upscale caf environment.
• Multilingual abilities, particularly Arabic language skills.
• Experience with inventory management and stock rotation.
• Knowledge of latte art and advanced coffee presentation techniques.

• Promotes coffee consumption by educating customers and selling coffee and related equipment and accessories.
• Preparing and serving a variety of coffee drinks along with pastries.
• Sells coffees and equipment by explaining differences in beans and machines and demonstrating operation of brewing equipment.
• Prepares and sells coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques.
• Generates revenues by attracting new customers and expanding services and products.
• Maintains inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply and stocking equipment, pastries, and cookies.
• Keeps equipment operating by following instructions and performing maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and sanitation regulations.

• Welcoming guests informing them about specials or new items answering questions and accepting orders and payments


• Promotes coffee consumption by educating customers selling coffee and coffee grinding and brewing equipment accessories and supplies


• preparing and serving a variety of coffee drinks along with pastries


• Sells coffees and coffee grinding and brewing equipment by explaining differences in coffee beans and coffee preparation machines demonstrating how brewing equipment operates


• Prepares and sells coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques for coffee drinks such as espresso caffe latte and cappuccino


• Generates revenues by attracting new customers defining new and expanded services and products


• Maintains inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply stocking coffee brewing equipment maintaining supplies pastries and cookies for coffee bar


• Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions troubleshooting breakdowns maintaining supplies performing preventive maintenance calling for repairs


• Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations


• Improves quality results by studying evaluating and re-designing processes implementing changes maintaining and improving the appearance of the store and coffee bar


• Learning about brewing methods beverage blends food preparation and presentation techniques to improve food quality


• Maintain a clean dining area sanitizing tables and chairs and sweeping crumbs off of the floor


• Adhering to all food safety regulations and quality controls
