HCLTech in Portugal is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to provide production support for mission-critical payment applications. You will apply SRE principles and automation to ensure stability, performance, and reliability in a dynamic financial services environment.

You will monitor with Splunk, Dynatrace, and CloudWatch, drive CI/CD with Jenkins and Ansible, and collaborate across teams to continuously improve incident response, change control, and deployment practices.

Qualificações

  • 5–7 years of experience in Application Production Support, preferably in the financial services domain.
  • Strong understanding of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) concepts and ITIL frameworks.
  • Proficiency with version control systems: GitHub or Bitbucket (required).
  • Expertise in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins (required).
  • Experience with automation tools: Ansible (preferred), orchestration tools like XLR (preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools: Splunk and Dynatrace (required), Amazon CloudWatch and OpenTelemetry (preferred).
  • Solid background working with AWS, Postgres/Oracle databases, Shell Scripting, and Pivotal Cloud Foundry (all required).
  • Familiarity with Cassandra, Kafka, and Python (preferred).
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Understanding of ITIL processes including incident and change management.

Responsabilidades

  • Provide end-to-end production support for payment applications, focusing on authorization, clearing, and settlement processes.
  • Monitor application health and performance using observability tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, and Amazon CloudWatch.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents, ensuring timely escalation and communication in alignment with ITIL best practices.
  • Drive automation initiatives using tools like Jenkins, Ansible, and orchestration platforms (e.g., XLR) to streamline deployment and operational workflows.
  • Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and operations teams to implement site reliability engineering principles and continuous improvement strategies.
  • Maintain version control using GitHub or Bitbucket, ensuring robust code management and deployment practices.
  • Develop and maintain shell scripts and support integration with cloud platforms including AWS and Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF).
  • Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes, contributing to root cause analysis and prevention strategies.
  • Document processes, workflows, and solutions to enhance team knowledge and operational efficiency.

Site Reliability Engineer - Application Production Support

Your Role & Responsibilities

As an Application Production Support Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the stability, reliability, and optimal performance of mission-critical payment applications. You will leverage your expertise in site reliability engineering and automation to proactively manage, monitor, and resolve production issues within a dynamic, high-impact financial services environment. Your contribution will be essential to maintaining seamless payment operations and supporting HCLTech’s commitment to business continuity and client satisfaction.

Detailed Responsibilities
  • Provide end-to-end production support for payment applications, focusing on authorization, clearing, and settlement processes.
