Job summary

Globeducate International Schools Cascais, Portugal, seeks a Kitchen Assistant to support the school kitchen operations, food preparation, service and hygiene. You will work with the catering team to provide high-quality meals in a safe, welcoming environment.

Ideal candidates have previous kitchen or catering experience, basic food prep knowledge, and good Portuguese and English communication. The role offers a permanent, full-time contract and a supportive, internationally minded work setting.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen or catering experience is desirable.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation and safety.
• Food hygiene certification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation under kitchen team direction.
• Support meal service for students and staff.
• Wash, peel and prep ingredients as required.
• Maintain high cleanliness and hygiene in kitchen areas.
• Receive, check and store food deliveries.
• Help with stock rotation and waste minimisation.
• Follow food safety and allergy procedures.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely after training.
