Job summary

KEO Group in Porto, Portugal is seeking an Accountant - Accounts Payable and Payroll to manage end-to-end AP and Portuguese payroll, ensuring accurate records and timely payments. The role requires coordination with HR and external providers and will support month-end close and statutory reporting.

The successful candidate will have 3–5 years in accounting, strong knowledge of Portuguese payroll, and experience with Deltek Vantagepoint or similar ERP.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of accounting and finance work experience, preferably in Portugal.
• Hands-on knowledge of Portuguese payroll processes and payroll accounting entries.
• Experience with accounts payable processing, supplier invoices, and GL coding.
• Strong financial reporting, month-end close, and compliance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end Accounts Payable processes: receipt, verification, coding and recording of supplier invoices.
• Own Portuguese payroll end-to-end, with supervision of payroll inputs, calculations and statutory filings.
• Record day-to-day accounting transactions and assist monthly close and reporting.
• Support payroll tax, Social Security reporting, and statutory compliance with external partners.
• Identify and implement process improvements and strengthen internal controls.
