Job summary

Freight People Recruitment CZ in Lisbon is assisting an international freight forwarding and logistics company to recruit an experienced Customs clearance specialist. The role involves handling import/export customs procedures in compliance with Portuguese and EU rules.

You will prepare declarations, review documentation, and liaise with authorities, carriers, and clients. Fluency in Portuguese and good English, plus strong attention to detail, are required for effective teamwork and independent

Qualifications

Experience in customs clearance / brokerage.
Knowledge of Portuguese and EU customs procedures and regulations.
Experience preparing and processing customs declarations.
Good understanding of import/export documentation.

Responsibilities

Prepare and submit import and export customs declarations.
Handle customs clearance procedures from documentation through to final release of goods.
Check commercial invoices, packing lists, transport documents and other customs documentation.
Ensure compliance with Portuguese and EU customs legislation.
Communicate with customs authorities and other relevant government bodies.
Coordinate with customers, carriers, freight forwarders and internal departments.
Monitor customs clearance processes and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
Calculate and verify customs duties, VAT and other applicable charges.
Maintain accurate customs records and documentation.
