Job summary

FedEx is seeking a Clearance Broker to join our Customs Clearance team in Portugal. You will review shipments to ensure accurate regulatory compliance, create clearance declarations in in-house systems, and liaise with customers or government agencies to clarify information.

You will resolve routine disputes, build strong relationships with customers, and help select the best clearance services, all within a fast-paced office setting.

Qualifications

• Teamworking skills in a busy office environment.
• Experience or knowledge of clearance related principles, Import/Export processes and regulatory requirements, CHIEF entries and commercial flights processing.
• Customer focused with excellent communication skills.
• Attention to detail and the ability to make sound numerical decisions within tight time deadlines.
• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Good Microsoft Office and PC skills.

Responsibilities

• Review shipments data to understand the exact customer and regulatory requirements and checking the accuracy and completeness of documentation supplied.
• Using in-house systems to create accurate and legally compliant clearance declarations.
• Contacting customers or government agencies to clarify information when needed.
• Resolving routine customer and customs disputes.
• Building effective relationships with our customers and helping them to choose the best suited clearance services.
• Working within tight time frames in a busy office environment.
