Claranet limited in Portugal seeks an experienced IT Manager to lead internal infrastructure and network initiatives. Based in Figueira da Foz, you will align client requirements with technical teams and drive delivery across virtualization, storage, and security domains.

You will translate business needs into technical plans, manage stakeholders, and ensure projects meet deadlines and SLAs while maintaining high standards of documentation and knowledge sharing.

Qualificações

• 5+ years in infrastructure and networks management.
• Proficiency in BGP, VLANs, SD-WAN, VPNs, and firewalls.
• Experience with LAN/WAN/Wi‑Fi design and management.
• Ability to read technical docs and incident reports from TAM teams.
• Fluent communication with technical and business stakeholders.

Your responsibilitiesinclude:

Requirements Gathering and Translation

• Gather, validate, and prioritize technical requirements with the client’sstakeholders;
  
• Translate functional and business requirements into technicalspecifications that are understandable to the Systems teams (virtualization,storage, backup, databases) and the Networking teams (firewall rules, networkarchitecture, connectivity between data centers);
  
• Assess the preliminary technical feasibility of requests before forwardingthem, identifying dependencies across domains;
  

Liaison andMonitoring

• Serve as a liaison between the client and the TAMs, presenting requirementsin a structured manner, including context, impact, urgency, and successcriteria;
  
• Monitor the execution of requests with the TAMs, ensuring compliance withdeadlines and contractual SLAs;
  
• Monitor the execution of projects outside the scope of service, ensuringthat needs are met and communication flows between project teams, the client,and the service team;
  
• Participate in periodic follow-up meetings with the client and reportinternally on the status of projects and relevant incidents;
  

Expectation, Risk, and Knowledge Management

• Manage client expectations regarding deadlines, technical limitations, andtrade-offs (impact on production, maintenance windows, and downtime);
  
• Identify opportunities for optimization or risks (licensing compliance,infrastructure capacity, obsolescence) and propose proactive measures to thetechnical teams;
  
• Document technical decisions, the agreed-upon architecture, and relevantchanges for continuity and future reference;
  
• Escalate internally any issues requiring management decisions (budget,resources, contractual scope changes).
  

You must have:

• Proven experience of 5 or more years in the management, design, andimplementation of infrastructure and networks;
  
• Proficiency in network protocols and technologies: BGP, VLANs,SD-WAN, VPNs, and firewalls;
  
• Experience in LAN, WAN, and WLAN environments, as well as in thedesign and management of Wi-Fi networks;
  
• Experience overseeing implementation projects for infrastructure,systems, networks, and security;
  
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and incidentreports produced by TAM teams;
  
• Strong communication skills and fluency in technical discourse,with a proven ability to communicate with both technical and businessstakeholders;
  
• Driver\'s license and willingness to travel;
  

We value:

• Fortinet technologies and related certifications (NSE);alternatively, Cisco (CCNP) or equivalent;
  
• Functional knowledge—not necessarily from day-to-day practice—ofvirtualization (VMware vSphere/vCenter), Citrix CVAD, backup (Veeam), storage(Dell PowerStore and Data Domain), and AD DS services;
  
• Familiarity with monitoring processes (Zabbix or equivalent) andinterpreting infrastructure health metrics;
  
• Previous experience in a managed service provider (MSP) oroutsourcing context;
  
• Experience with OT or industrial environments;
  
• Autonomy and the ability to organize scattered information;
  
• Assertiveness in managing expectations, including the ability toprovide a technical justification for a “no” or a “not within these deadlines”when dealing with the client;
  
• Attention to detail in documentation and a focus on knowledgeretention;
  
• Focus on building long-term relationships with clients.
