Job summary

Closer Consulting is seeking a Desktop Support Engineer to join our Porto and Lisbon teams in a presential work model. You will handle hardware and software issues across Windows and MacOS, provide strong customer service, and work both independently and in a team.

The role requires reporting, occasional project involvement, and effective use of IT ticketing tools. We value ITIL/Microsoft certifications and hardware credentials, with opportunities to grow in a data science environment serving

Qualifications

• Desktop support experience for Windows and MacOS environments.
• Strong customer service skills with a user-first approach.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and messaging products.
• Experience supporting mobile devices and knowledge of ITIL processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 1–2 desktop support for hardware and software issues.
• Deliver excellent customer service and document actions clearly.
• Balance production tasks with occasional project work and reporting.
• Support banking/financial sector clients and adapt to regional needs.
• Coordinate with global support teams and respond to change with flexibility.

We are seeking a skilled Desktop Support Engineer to take on new challenges in a presential work model in Porto and Lisbon.

• Desktop support competencies - Software & Hardware Level 1 & 2.
• Windows and MacOS experience. o Strong customer services competencies / Customer oriented.
• Independently driven as well as a team member.
• Strong experienced Windows/MS Office and Messaging products.
• Experienced within the Banking or Financial Sector.
• Mobile device platform support. o Experience of request or incident toolsets.
• Awareness of Microsoft OS build methodologies and toolsets.
• Ability to manage client base staff with differing character traits
• Reporting and minute writing to a high standard
• Able to balance a high-tempo Production environment whilst also delivering elements of project work.
• Plan and direct own activities with minimal management supervision.
• Expected to have prior experience of troubleshooting issues for a variety of applications, both written in-house and from external vendors.
• Possess experience of support for mobile devices, iPhones/laptops/tablets.
• Display flexibility, adaptability, and open-mindedness in response to frequent and/or significant changes to support needs, working closely with the rest of the Portugal team and Global support teams, and assisting other regions as needs require.
