Job summary

Amgen is seeking a lead business analyst for the Clinical Trial Management, Monitoring, and Engagement (CTMME) team. You will gather and refine business requirements, user stories, and test plans for Veeva ClinOps applications.

You will collaborate with architects, product managers, and partners to shape the product backlog and ensure successful software delivery. The role requires advanced degrees with several years of IT experience in drug discovery, strong communication, and ability to work

Qualifications

• Doctorate, Master's or Bachelor's in CS/IT with extensive experience in clinical trial systems.
• Experience with SAFe Framework and Agile software development.
• Proven ability to write clear user requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Strong communication skills and ability to engage senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with System Architects and Product Managers to manage BA activities.
• Lead capture of customer needs to define processes and product requirements.
• Develop business cases including scope, timeline and resources for digital initiatives.
• Document impact of Veeva version upgrades and refine backlogs.
• Ensure non-functional requirements are prioritized in release plans.
• Create and deliver product demonstrations for stakeholders.

This lead role will be part of Clinical Trial Management, Monitoring, and Engagement (CTMME) product team, supporting Veeva ClinOps suite of applications (Veeva CTMS etc). This role combines domain expertise and analytical skills to gather, refine, and document business requirements, including user stories, business process maps, and test plans.

Collaborate with System Architects and Product Managers to manage business analysis activities Work as a technical SME, supporting Veeva ClinOps suite of applications Lead activities to capture the voice of the customer to define business processes and product needs Developing business cases to communicate and request funds for digital innovation opportunities, including the scope, timeline, and resources vital to achieving successful outcomes. Collaborate with Product Management, vendor, and business partners to analyze and document impact of Veeva version upgrade releases and refine the Product backlog Ensure non-functional requirements are included and prioritized in the Product and Release Backlogs Clearly express features in User Stories/requirements so all team members and stakeholders understand how they fit into the product backlog Partnering with business counterparts, Technical Product Owner and other members of the product team to deliver solutions Stay focused on software development to ensure it meets requirements, providing proactive feedback to stakeholders Partnering with Partner Services, Architecture, CDT and other Amgen IT teams on continual systems delivery improvements Develop and execute effective product demonstrations for internal and external stakeholders Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, processes, and changes

Doctorate Degree OR Master’s degree with 4 - 6 years of experience in Computer Science, IT or related field OR Bachelor’s degree with 6 - 8 years of experience in Computer Science, IT or related field OR Diploma with 10 - 12 years of experience in Computer Science, IT or related field Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for tackling complex challenges in drug discovery with technology Experience with SAFe Framework and Agile software development methodologies Experience with Veeva ClinOps suite of applications Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with senior leadership with confidence and clarity Experience in writing requirements for development of modern web application Has experience with writing user requirements and acceptance criteria in agile project management systems such as JIRA Able to work under minimal supervision Skilled in providing oversight and mentoring team members.
