Job summary

Opsarmy is seeking a Level 2 Tax & Accounting Support Specialist based in the Philippines to assist customers using US tax and accounting solutions. You will investigate escalated tax questions, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with internal teams to resolve complex cases while documenting findings.

The role requires practical accounting/tax experience, strong analytical skills, and excellent English communication.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounting or taxation in a professional environment.
• Knowledge of US taxation, preferably through hands-on US tax preparation or tax compliance.
• Ability to investigate accounting or tax issues and work toward resolutions independently.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Ability to explain tax concepts to nontechnical customers.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation.
• Willingness and ability to work a schedule that overlaps US business hours.
• CPA or EA certification is preferred but not mandatory.
• Experience in a US accounting firm, CPA firm, tax practice, or professional tax preparation environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and respond to customer questions involving US taxation and tax-related processes.
• Assist with inquiries concerning individual and business tax returns, filing requirements, and tax compliance.
• Explain technical tax concepts in clear, understandable language.
• Research tax and accounting questions using reliable resources and approved internal guidance.
• Assist with bookkeeping discrepancies and accounting-related customer issues.
• Review accounting information to identify inconsistencies and potential root causes.
