Job summary

WalterMart Community Mall seeks an experienced Transportation Operations Manager to oversee the daily functions of the hub, ensuring efficient queueing, loading, dispatch, and traffic routing during peak periods.

You will liaise with public transport cooperatives, LGUs, and regulatory bodies, enforcing safety, CCTV monitoring, and asset protection across facilities. A bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years in related roles are required.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

1. Daily Operations & Traffic Management

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the transport hub, ensuring efficient vehicle queueing, loading, and dispatching.

  • Implement and optimize traffic routing plans within the hub to prevent bottlenecks and gridlocks during peak hours.

2. Stakeholder & Partner Relations

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the organization and public transport cooperatives or associations (e.g., JODA, TODA, bus companies).

  • Coordinate with Local Government Units (LGUs), Metropolitan Development Authorities, and transport regulatory bodies (e.g., LTFRB, LTO) to ensure legal compliance.

  • Manage relationships with commercial tenants and vendors operating retail spaces within the terminal.

3. Safety, Security, & Compliance

  • Enforce safety protocols, emergency response plans, and security measures to protect commuters, drivers, and staff.

  • Ensure the hub complies with all national and local environmental, health, and transport regulations.

  • Oversee CCTV monitoring, crowd control measures, and incident reporting.

4. Facility & Asset Maintenance

  • Partner with the engineering and maintenance teams to ensure all physical assets - such as loading bays, digital signage, automated ticketing barriers, lighting, and restrooms - are fully functional.

  • Manage the upkeep of parking structures, terminal lanes, and commuter waiting lounges.

5. Financial & Data Performance

  • Manage the operational budget of the hub, optimizing expenses while maintaining high service standards.

  • Oversee the collection of terminal fees, parking revenues, or booking charges.

  • Analyze terminal data (passenger foot traffic, peak hours, vehicle turnaround times) to draft performance reports and recommend operational improvements.

Job Requirements & Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Civil Engineering (with a focus on Transportation), or a related field.

  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in transport operations, fleet management, logistics, or mall/property operations management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in Terminal Management Systems (TMS) or Fleet Dispatch software.

    • Familiarity with automated fare collection systems and CCTV monitoring setups.

    • Strong knowledge of local land transportation laws and traffic management guidelines.
