Job description

The Transport Manager is accountable for the overall management of end-to-end trucking operations, ensuring optimal fleet utilization, service reliability, cost efficiency, and strict compliance with Philippine transport and safety regulations. This role leads fleet operations, driving operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and sustainable profitability.

Responsibilities
  • Transport planning and operations
    • Oversee daily transport planning, dispatch, and execution to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods.
    • Optimize fleet deployment, routing, and resource allocation to meet service commitments and maximize asset utilization.
    • Develop and implement transport strategies and procedures that reduce lead times and operating costs.
    • Continuously evaluate and enhance operational workflows, including route planning and equipment usage.
  • Cost control and performance management
    • Monitor and analyze operational performance, identifying inefficiencies and implementing corrective actions.
    • Drive cost optimization initiatives, including fuel efficiency, route planning improvements, and vendor cost management.
    • Track and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) and collaborate with internal units to address performance gaps.
    • Provide accurate and timely operational reports and insights to support strategic decision-making.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with transport partners and key clients.
    • Lead regular performance reviews and coordination meetings with stakeholders.
    • Address and resolve customer concerns promptly, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
    • Collaborate closely with internal teams to align service delivery with business objectives.
  • Compliance and equipment management
    • Ensure full compliance with all applicable transport regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
    • Promote a culture of safety across all transport operations, including drivers and subcontractors.
    • Work closely with the technical and maintenance teams to ensure fleet reliability through preventive maintenance programs, pre-trip inspections, and proper equipment calibration (including refrigerated units, where applicable).
    • Maintain high standards of equipment readiness to minimize downtime and service disruptions.
  • Documentation and team leadership
    • Ensure documentation of all transport activities, including delivery documents, incident reports, and compliance requirements.
    • Lead, mentor, and develop the transport operations team, including dispatchers, drivers, and support staff.
    • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational discipline within the team.
    • Identify training needs and implement capability development programs to enhance team performance and safety awareness.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years of leadership role managing a logistics operations required.
  • Experience in cold chain logistics preferred.
  • Possess strong people management and leadership skill.
  • Ability to develop short and long-range planning and effectively communicate information to diverse work groups required.
  • Demonstrated ability in stakeholder management, critical thinking, and strategic decision making.
