Go Lean Health is seeking an experienced Virtual Medical Assistant to support a US-based pulmonology practice from a remote location. The role involves front-d desk patient communication and back-office medical records management, handling high-volume calls, appointment coordination, and EMR documentation.

The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of relevant experience, strong English communication skills, and familiarity with HIPAA requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Virtual Medical Assistant supporting US-based healthcare practices.
• Experience in patient communication, inbound call handling, or medical records processing is required.
• Strong English verbal and written communication with patient-centered approach.
• Familiarity with HIPAA requirements and US healthcare workflows.

Responsabilités

• Answer high-volume inbound patient calls, address general inquiries, confirm appointments, and direct requests to clinic staff.
• Triage incoming calls, emails, and AthenaHealth EMR messages with accurate documentation and routing.
• Coordinate with bilingual VMA to assist Spanish-speaking patients via live transfers or callbacks.
• Process medical records requests from insurers, referring providers, and patients within required timelines.
• Coordinate with the in-house billing team to organize and track medical records while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
• Collaborate with clinic supervisors, billing personnel, and fellow VMAs to ensure smooth communication across locations.
• Provide backup inbound call coverage during peak hours and balance EMR duties with administrative tasks.
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation and contribute to SOPs for consistent workflows.
