Job summary

Go Lean Health is seeking a Medical Virtual Assistant (MVA) to support a busy chiropractic clinic from a remote setting. The role focuses on insurance verification, claims processing, and billing tasks, requiring sharp attention to detail and proactive ownership.

Excellent English and independent work with a Mac are essential. This position offers 30 hours per week (Monday–Friday) at $5–$6.50 per hour, with a performance-based increase after 6 months.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Virtual Assistant.
• Experience supporting a US healthcare practice.
• Experience with insurance verification, EOBs, claims, denied claims, patient balances, or billing support.
• Exposure to CPT and ICD-10 codes.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong executive presence and professional communication style.
• Must be a Mac OS user.
• Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proven leadership, ownership, or high-accountability experience in a previous role.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient insurance after check-in and document all details.
• Review denied claims and assist with reprocessing; track issues.
• Review and process Explanation of Benefits (EOB) documents and clear backlogs.
• Identify and resolve outstanding patient balances and account issues.
• Support claims workflows including Cigna and VA claims; escalate when needed.
• Assist with vendor payments and ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Monitor SOAP note completion and accuracy; flag issues.
• Track missed and canceled appointments and identify trends.
• Prepare reports on outstanding balances, missed/canceled appointments, EOB backlog, and denied claims with insights.
• Coordinate smooth communication between provider, care team, and admin staff.
• Identify workflow gaps and recommend practical fixes to improve efficiency.
