Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Virtual Assistant.
• Experience supporting a US healthcare practice.
• Experience with insurance verification, EOBs, claims, denied claims, patient balances, or billing support.
• Exposure to CPT and ICD-10 codes.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Must be a Mac OS user.
• Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proven leadership, ownership, or high-accountability experience in a previous role.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient insurance after check-in and document details.
• Review denied claims and assist with reprocessing; track issues.
• Process Explanation of Benefits (EOB) documents and clear backlogs.
• Resolve outstanding patient balances and coordinate next steps for resolution.
• Support claims processing for payers (e.g., Cigna, VA) and escalate when needed.
• Assist with vendor payment coordination and ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Monitor SOAP note completion, accuracy, and compliance.
• Track missed/cancelled appointments and identify revenue-impacting patterns.
• Prepare reports on outstanding balances, missed appointments, and billing metrics; provide insights.
