Job summary

Go Lean Health is seeking a Medical Virtual Assistant (MVA) to support a busy chiropractic clinic. This remote role offers 30 hours per week at $5-$6/hour with a performance-based raise after 6 months.

The MVA will verify insurance, manage denied claims and EOBs, resolve patient balances, process claims, coordinate payments, monitor SOAP notes, track appointments, and prepare operational reports. Strong English, detail orientation, and Mac OS fluency are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Virtual Assistant.
• Experience supporting a US healthcare practice.
• Experience with insurance verification, EOBs, claims, denied claims, patient balances, or billing support.
• Exposure to CPT and ICD-10 codes.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong executive presence and professional communication style.
• Must be a Mac OS user.
• Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proven leadership, ownership, or high-accountability experience in a previous role.

Responsibilities

• Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance after check-in and document accurately.
• Denied Claims Management: Review denials, identify reasons, and assist with reprocessing.
• EOB Processing: Review and manage EOBs, clear backlogs, ensure documentation accuracy.
• Patient Balance Resolution: Track balances, identify issues, and coordinate resolution steps.
• Claims Processing: Support Cigna and VA claims, ensure tracking and escalation when needed.
• Payment Coordination: Assist with vendor payments; ensure timely completion.
• SOAP Note Monitoring: Track completion, accuracy, and compliance.
• Appointment Tracking: Monitor missed/cancelled appointments; identify patterns.
• Reports and Operational Tracking: Prepare reports with insights and recommendations.
• Team Coordination: Ensure clear communication among provider, care team, and staff.
• Operational Support: Identify gaps and propose practical improvements.
