Job summary

GoLean Health is seeking a sharp Medical Virtual Assistant to support operational health of a busy healthcare clinic. The role demands proactive, detail-oriented work and ownership of clinic workflows with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities include insurance verification, claims processing, EOB management, balance resolution, and reporting. Requires strong English, executive presence, and ability to work independently on Mac OS in a remote setup.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Virtual Assistant.
• Experience supporting a US healthcare practice.
• Experience with insurance verification, EOBs, claims, denied claims, patient balances, or billing support.
• Exposure to CPT and ICD-10 codes.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong executive presence and professional communication style.
• Must be a Mac OS user.

Responsibilities

• Insurance verification after patient check-in and documentation.
• Denied claims management and reprocessing assistance.
• Review and process Explanation of Benefits documents and clear backlogs.
• Review outstanding balances and coordinate resolution.
• Support CPT and ICD-10 related claims processing.
• Coordinate vendor payments and check payments when needed.
• Monitor SOAP notes for completeness and compliance.
• Track missed and canceled appointments and identify trends.
• Prepare reports on balances, appointments, EOB backlog, and denials with insights.
• Facilitate smooth team communication and coordination.
• Identify workflow gaps and propose practical solutions to improve efficiency.
