Job summary

Go Lean Health is seeking a highly capable Medical Virtual Assistant (MVA) to support the clinical operations of a busy healthcare practice. You will own billing workflows, verify insurance, resolve patient balances, process claims, and monitor documentation with a proactive, detail-oriented mindset.

This remote role requires excellent English communication, strong executive presence, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Virtual Assistant.
• Experience supporting a US healthcare practice.
• Experience with insurance verification, EOBs, claims, denied claims, patient balances, or billing support.
• Exposure to CPT and ICD-10 codes.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Must be a Mac OS user.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proven leadership, ownership, or high-accountability experience.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient insurance after check-in and document details.
• Review denied claims and assist with reprocessing.
• Review and clear EOB backlogs with accurate documentation.
• Track outstanding balances and coordinate resolutions.
• Support claims workflows, including Cigna and VA claims.
• Assist with vendor payments and check processing when needed.
• Monitor SOAP note completion and compliance.
• Track missed/canceled appointments and trends impacting revenue.
• Prepare reports on balances, appointments, EOB backlog, and metrics.
• Facilitate team communication and ensure priorities are followed.
