Job summary

Go Lean Health is hiring a Medical Virtual Assistant (MVA) to support a busy chiropractic clinic remotely. The role focuses on insurance verification, denied claims management, EOB processing, patient balances, and claims workflows, with attention to detail and a proactive mindset.

The ideal candidate will communicate effectively in English, maintain professional presence, and work independently on billing and operational tasks.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year as Medical Virtual Assistant.
• Experience supporting a US healthcare practice.
• Experience with insurance verification, EOBs, claims, denied claims, patient balances, or billing support.
• Exposure to CPT and ICD-10 codes.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong executive presence and professional communication style.
• Must be a Mac OS user.
• Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proven leadership or ownership in a previous role.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient insurance after check-in and document accuracy.
• Review denied claims, identify reasons, and assist with reprocessing.
• Review and process Explanation of Benefits documents and clear EOB backlogs.
• Track and resolve outstanding patient balances and account issues.
• Support claims workflows, including Cigna and VA claims, with escalation when needed.
• Assist with vendor payments and ensure timely completion of payment tasks.
• Monitor SOAP notes for completion, accuracy, and compliance.
• Track missed or canceled appointments and analyze trends impacting revenue.
• Prepare reports on balances, missed/canceled appointments, EOB backlog, and denials with insights.
• Coordinate communication between provider, care team, and admin staff.
• Identify workflow gaps and propose practical solutions to improve efficiency.
