Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Virtual Assistant.
• Experience supporting a US healthcare practice.
• Experience with insurance verification, EOBs, claims, denied claims, or billing support.
• Exposure to CPT and ICD-10 codes.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Must be a Mac OS user.
• Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
• Proven leadership or ownership experience in a previous role.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient insurance after check-in and document accurately.
• Review denied claims, identify denial reasons, and assist with reprocessing.
• Process Explanation of Benefits (EOB) documents and clear backlogs.
• Resolve outstanding patient balances and coordinate next steps for resolution.
• Support claims processing, including Cigna and VA claims, and escalate when needed.
• Coordinate vendor payments and ensure timely, accurate tasks.
• Monitor SOAP notes for completion, accuracy, and compliance.
• Track missed/canceled appointments and identify trends affecting revenue.
• Prepare reports on balances, missed appointments, and billing metrics.
• Facilitate smooth team communication and prioritize important tasks.
• Identify workflow gaps and recommend practical improvements.
