Job summary

GoLean Health is seeking a Medical Virtual Assistant (MVA) to support a busy chiropractic clinic remotely. The role focuses on insurance verification, denied claims management, EOB processing, patient balances, and claims processing with a strong emphasis on accuracy and proactive problem solving.

The ideal candidate will be highly detail oriented, English-proficient, Mac OS–comfortable, able to work independently, and capable of building trust with the provider and care team.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Virtual Assistant
• Experience supporting a US healthcare practice
• Experience with insurance verification, EOBs, claims, denied claims, patient balances, or billing support
• Exposure to CPT and ICD-10 codes
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong executive presence and professional communication style
• Must be a Mac OS user
• Strong attention to detail and follow-through
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Proven leadership, ownership, or high-accountability experience in a previous role

Responsibilities

• Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance after check-in and document accurately.
• Denied Claims Management: Review denials, identify reasons, and assist with reprocessing.
• EOB Processing: Review and organize Explanation of Benefits documents and backlog.
• Patient Balance Resolution: Track balances and coordinate resolution steps.
• Claims Processing: Support claims workflows including Cigna and VA claims.
• Payment Coordination: Assist with vendor payments and ensure timely completion.
• SOAP Note Monitoring: Monitor completeness and compliance of notes.
• Appointment Tracking: Track missed/cancelled appointments and trends.
• Reports and Operational Tracking: Prepare dashboards and provide insights.
• Team Coordination: Ensure clear communication between provider, care team, and staff.
• Operational Support: Identify workflow gaps and propose practical solutions.
