Job summary

GoLean Health is seeking a proactive Medical Virtual Assistant to support a busy clinic remotely. The role emphasizes ownership of billing and administrative workflows, with strong English communication and executive presence.

Ideal for a sharp, detail-oriented individual who can operate independently and think ahead for operational improvements. The position offers a remote setup, 30 hours per week, compensation of $5 to $6.50 per hour, with a performance-based increase after 6 months.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year experience as a Medical Virtual Assistant.
• Experience supporting a US healthcare practice.
• Experience with insurance verification, EOBs, claims, denied claims, patient balances, or billing support.
• Exposure to CPT and ICD-10 codes.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Must be a Mac OS user.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proven leadership, ownership, or high-accountability experience.

Responsibilities

• Insurance Verification after patient check-in and ensure accuracy.
• Denied Claims Management, identify denial reasons and assist with reprocessing.
• EOB Processing: review, organize, and clear EOB backlogs.
• Patient Balance Resolution: track balances and coordinate resolution.
• Claims Processing: support for Cigna and Veterans Affairs claims; escalate when needed.
• Payment Coordination: assist with vendor payments and checks as required.
• SOAP Note Monitoring: track completeness and compliance of notes.
• Appointment Tracking: monitor missed/cancelled appointments and trends.
• Reports and Operational Tracking: generate metrics and actionable recommendations.
• Team Coordination: facilitate communication between provider, care team and staff.
• Operational Support: identify workflow gaps and propose practical improvements.
